Cheap Health Insurance

You're a good driver; you have a good driving record (well, an OK one), you don't run red lights, you observe (if not actually adhere to) the posted speed limits, you keep your car in safe running condition (OK, the brakes could use some work), you don't drink and drive.

You do all of these things that a responsible driver does to be safe and yet, you still have car insurance. Why? Because you know that lurking around any given corner is that maniac, who isn't as conscientious as you are, just waiting for you to let your guard down, so he can ruin your day. Or what if we have one of those once-per-year ice storms, and your car doesn't happen to be a Zamboni. You just never know when, in spite of all your care and preparation, things just happen.

Just like your car, your body needs insurance. Even though you eat a well-balanced diet, taking care to include all the kinds of foods that should provide you with all of the necessary vitamins and minerals you need for optimal health, you just never know when you missed one little element. Even if you grow all of your vegetables in your own garden, and raise free-range, no-growth-hormone livestock on your south 40, you don't know the exact vitamin and mineral content of those foods. And since most of us trust others to bring our food to market, do you really know for sure that you are getting all of the nutrients that you need each day?

I don't know about you, but I'm hedging my bets. I take multivitamins and antioxidants every day, even if I think I ate perfectly. They're pretty cheap health insurance.
